Speakers at the 2009 PWI Ministries Event in Bend
Romans 9:16 —
Yet when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, for I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel.
Each one of the speakers chosen to date either has a special message or passion for Central Oregon. Their desire to serve the Lord will be apparent. We recommend you not miss one of their messages. Some are traveling long distances to share their hearts to our community. We are confident each speaker will speak to you in their own way. We haven't taken this lightly and have been in prayer over each speaker for over a year in some cases. At this time, the speakers contacted and confirmed include the following:
Adrian Despres
Adrian Despres is the team Chaplin of the University of South Carolina football program and has spoken at various Promise Keepers events throughout the country. His message entitled "4 Chairs" will be a keynote message of the event. This message has made a big difference in many lives across the country. It helps people realize and re-think the direction of their Christian walk. His desire is to see every Christian know what the "first chair" is, and sadly where most truly are. You will be blessed by Adrian's knowledge of the Bible and his passionate presentations. His illustrational messages will make you laugh but reveal truths about your walk as a Christian that will be everlasting. He will also be speaking to the men at the Saturday morning breakfast. Men who truly hunger to pursue a more passionate relationship with the Lord will not want to miss this time.
Ebo Elder
Ebo Elder is a retired professional boxer, ranked 5th in the world at one time in his weight class and seen on the "The Contender" television series. He would still be in the ring pursuing lucrative contracts, but was led to serve the Lord for good a few years ago. His boxer's approach to preaching the Gospel is truthful, passionate and sincere. He spoke at Faith Christian Center last year and shared his passion for our community. His "outsiders" perspective of Central Oregon and his desire to see our community serve the Lord with more passion and find the lost comes across like no other message. He and Tom Bachman will be speaking to our youth during the Saturday morning session. Parents who desire to see their children reach a different level of spiritual maturity will not be disappointed in their time with these speakers.
Tom Bachman
Tom Bachman has been in Ministry for over 25 years focusing much of his time on youth. He and his wife Dalleen, have raised three children of there own during this time. The past 13 years, he has been a US Missionary to the Oregon Public Schools and mixes his ministry between teens and adults. His style is story form and brings much laughter to the table as he speaks. Be ready to thank him for hitting you between the eyes.
IMPORTANT...PLEASE READ
After Tom's message, the only offering of the event will take place. All money raised during offering will be distributed in equal amounts to scholarship winners. Students eligible are 2010 high school juniors, seniors, and college freshmen and sophomores who desire to serve the Lord throughout their lives. These individuals will need to be endorsed by someone in their pastoral staff, approved by a board of directors (TBD) and will be introduced after Tom's message. This will be one of the centerpieces of the event, we pray it is received with the same desire.

Worship
Psalms 47:5-6 —
God has ascended amid shouts of joy, the Lord amid the sounding of trumpets. Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises.
Worship provided by "ComeUnity Band of Central Oregon" (performed at recent events like High Desert Men's Summit). They will perform contemporary Christian songs, gospel, and even some classic rock songs by bands such as, The Doobie Brothers, the Romantics, and others. Our children's choir will also perform with the adult band at worship times throughout the service. We are confident we will reach many different musical interests. We plan on meeting the needs of many since this won't be any ordinary time of worship.
Sam Layde, a worship leader from Washington will perform worship songs Saturday afternoon, during halftimes, and also lead the children's choir.
